Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G, company’s first 5G smartphone will soon launch in China as announced by the Lu Weibing, Redmi GM during the MWC 2019 Shanghai event. The company also made a couple of more announcements during the exhibit, including Redmi and Black Shark plans of releasing their first 5G phones.
He said 5G is moving rapidly and it will cover all the cities by the end of next year. He also claimed the price of 5G devices will be around 2,000 yuan (approximately $291).
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G has already been launched in Europe and now ready to hit the Chinese market. However, the exact launch timeframe is unknown.
Xiaomi first introduced the Mi MIX 3 5G back at the MWC 2019 event happened in Barcelona in February. It was then released in collaboration with Europe-based carriers – Orange, Sunrise, Three, TIM, and Vodafone. But it first demoed video calling using 5G at a conference in China in December 2018. Last month, Xiaomi’s Senior VP Wang Xiang shared a video teaser on his Twitter account in which Mi MIX 3 5G was seen steaming a video in 8K resolution using 5G. He even bragged and mentioned that he’s wowed by the super high-speed and low latency achieved with 5G.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G comes powered by Snapdragon 855 processor which has X50 modem for 5G. It features 6.39-inch Full HD+ display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. It has a slider that when goes up shows the dual front cameras panels which consists of a 24MP primary lens and a 2MP secondary lens. The slider also houses the earpiece and LED flash. On the back, the device includes dual 12MP cameras with one being a wide-angle lens and other being a telephoto lens. It comes with support for 960fps super slow-motion, Night Mode, and HDR photography.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G is priced at €599 (€699.90 in Italy) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant and is offered in two color options — Sapphire Blue and Onyx Black. But, the price and availability details for the Chinese version of the Mi MIX 3 are unknown.
