Huawei Nova 5i Pro with Kirin 810 SoC, quad rear cameras launched

27 July 2019 0

Huawei has launched a new smartphone in its Nova series for the Chinese market. The name of the phone is Nova 5i Pro and its main USP is quad rear cameras. The smartphone includes premium specifications, including the very latest Kirin 810 chipset that is based on the 7nm process and has a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for AI capabilities.

The four cameras on the back are placed in a square-shaped module. This includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, 2MP Super Macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The punch-hole on the front holds a 32MP camera sensor.

The Huawei Nova 5i Pro features a punch-hole display and sports a 6.26-inch screen size with FHD+ (2340x1080) resolution. The octa-core processor is paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM and comes with up to 256GB onboard storage. It also supports the GPU Turbo for an enhanced gaming experience. The GPU Turbo enhances the graphics performance without going heavier on the power. It reduces the power consumption to a significant level so that the device doesn’t heat up in peak hours. It reduces frame drops and offers faster touch response when you’re playing some high-end games.

The Huawei Nova 5i Pro houses a 4,000mAH battery and supports 20W fast charging that can charge the device up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. It comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Type-C port. It’s unknown when the device comes out of China and launches in other countries. It’s also not known yet whether or not Huawei will choose to introduce this device with the same name in other markets.
