Realme kept its promise and came up with a camera-centric event where it talked about the 64MP camera tech and the phones which are going to embrace it. Realme proudly revealed mostly about the camera tech and also disclosed when the new phones featuring this new tech will launch. The company promises that upcoming phones from the Realme series, Realme Pro, and the Realme X series will get this new tech and they will arrive before Diwali festival because it wants to “bring the best to Indian consumers at the earliest.”
Today’s event has also confirmed that the phones will use Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL sensor and Realme is going to be the first smartphone brand with a 64MP camera phone. Realme announced that it’s been working closely with Samsung ISOCELL and created prototypes to start the development and testing work before GW1 was manufactured. Realme explains its goal is to make a camera with the highest resolution in the market.
Realme shared the rear side of the upcoming phones, particularly to highlight the quad-camera setup. The camera design is the same, where all the sensors are vertically stacked. The image doesn’t reveal anything else but we can get a clue here that all of them may be featuring an in-display fingerprint scanner since no device is having the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Realme also revealed that the phones will come with camera features like Super wide Angle, Ultra Macro, Telephoto Lens, Ultra Resolution, Portrait Mode, Expert Mode, Panorama Mode, Ultra Nightscape Mode, and Chroma Boost.
Realme has also shared some camera samples taken with the 64MP quad-camera setup. While sharing the image, the company tweets, “with the 64MP super-big sensor, a single pixel can reach 1.6 μm in size in the 4-in-1 mode to offer more light & shooting options in the Ultra Nightscape mode.”
Realme and Redmi from Xiaomi were quite frequently building the hype on this camera tech. It was just yesterday when Xiaomi confirmed that it’s going to be one of the firsts to launch a phone with 64MP. This reflected that the company has currently slowed down its pace and not it’s not in a hassle to become the first of the first things.
This year, Diwali is falling on October 27, which means we aren’t too far from witnessing the new device. The names of the devices from the said series are unknown. It’s believed that the company will first start with Realme series and launch Realme 5 as the successor to Realme 3. The company’s CEP Madhav Sheth appears to have changed his Twitter handle username “Madhav ‘5’ Quad” to reflect the same. Well, this is just a guess but certainly looks promising.
Below are the camera samples that were taken in different modes.
Before beginning its dedicated event on the upcoming phones, Realme mock Xiaomi by saying that it’s not going to introduce the tech via merely PPT slides (on Twitter).
