Sharp has announced that it will unveil the world’s largest 8K LCD TV at the upcoming IFA 2019 event in Berlin. This is 120-inch in size and features 5G connectivity as well. Sharp emphasizes that the combination of 8K and 5G support will help users enjoy endless entertainment.

The onboard 5G connectivity option on an LCD TV unlocks several possibilities but Sharp is particularly eyeing on the art segment and has high hopes as well. Sharp mentions that it will display its 8K LCD TV for the museum and school use at the event. Sharp believes the latest product of their folio will be best suited for displaying artistic masterworks with greater detail and resolution. However, it’s unknown how Sharp intends to bring usability to the table of art institutions.

Sharp didn’t offer any further details or specifications on its new TV but we expect to hear from it at the IFA 2019 event which will start on September 6. The company, however, shares that it’s partnering with other companies to run verification tests in various fields. It mentions that this way the company isn’t promoting 8K offerings in isolation and nurturing 8K+5G ecosystem across a range of disciplines.

Sharp also announced that attendees will also be introduced to its AIoT line of smart life solutions, including the latest updates to RoBoHoN, the company’s unique robotic mobile phone. Sharp promises that it will continue to make strides by making use of 8K, 5G, and AIoT technologies.

Last year at IFA, Sharp brought two new series of its LCD TVs, ranging from 60-inch to 70-inch. They came with a better sound system in cooperation with Harman Kardon. One of the series includes HDR+ to offer you better color and contrast on your TV.
