Nubia Red Magic 3S gaming smartphone has finally gone official with some significant upgrades over the existing one. It brings some obvious hardware boosts over the standard Red Magic 3, like the Snapdragon 855 Plus, improved liquid cooling solution, and UFS 3.0 storage. As speculated, the device has 90Hz display and 48MP primary camera as well.
Visually, the only design difference is the reshaped air intake grill around the back which comes in a Y-shaped form. Just like its predecessor, the Nubia Red Magic 3S is offered in two variants – 8GB RAM+ 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.
For a cooler environment, the phone features ICE 2.1 cooling technology with high-efficiency centrifugal fan and water cooling via copper tubes. According to Nubia, this whole setup improves heat dissipation compared to the Red Magic 3. The company claims the setup has the ability to reduce the CPU core temperature by up to 18-degrees.
Being a gaming-specific smartphone, it includes ultrasonic pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons and has 4D smart shock motor for in-game vibrations and fingerprint scanner so that you could feel the taps while you play games and enjoy an immersive experience.
The Nubia Red Magic 3S retains the same 6.65-inch FHD AMOLED display and 90Hz refresh rate as well. There’s a single Sony IMX 586 48MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera. It retains the 5,000mAH battery with USB PD 27W fast charging support and RedMagic OS 2.1 based on the Android 9 Pie.
The Nubia Red Magic 3S is already up for reservations while official sales scheduled for September 9 in China. Pricing starts at CNY 2,999 ($419) for the 8/128GB version while the top model will go for CNY 3,799 ($531) and packs 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The global launch is scheduled for October.
