Miami-based smartphone maker BLU has announced a new brand named BOLD with the goal of focusing on the "premium flagship" and "flagship-like devices". It means the new brand will offer devices with more powerful specs and premium features for relatively affordable pricing. It will be releasing only 1-2 smartphones per year and the first BOLD smartphone has also been unveiled.
The BOLD N1 is the first smartphone to be released by the new BLU sub-brand. It is a phone which offers great specs and features considering the asking price. The BOLD N1 sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with an impressive 92% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor with AI Technology. It has only one configuration model that comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
On the back, it has an AI-powered dual-camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. It is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. There is a 13-megapixel pop-up selfie camera which means the phone has no notch or punch-hole cutout in the display.
The whole package is powered by a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Other features include a USB Type-C port and in-display fingerprint scanner. It is running Android 9 Pie out of the box but is confirmed to receive Android 10 upgrade. The team has also assured Android security updates for two years.
The BOLD N1 has been priced at $250 but for a limited period of time, it can be purchased for only $200. It is available for purchase via Amazon and official BOLD website.
