17 September 2019 0

Xiaomi has launched a new range of Mi TVs in India at very competitive price tags. At a special event called the Smarter Living 2020 in Bengaluru, Xiaomi also took the wraps off some of the other hardware, including the fitness band that it first introduced in June in China.

The PatchWall inside these TVs has been redesigned and it's now updated to Patchwal 2.0 UI. The user-interface is also new and the TVs ship with Android 9 Pie. The PatchWall 2.0 brings an access to live news without any registrations or log-ins

The new Mi TV 4X range includes a range of different sized TVs, these are 43-inch, 50-inch, and 65-inch, and the price starts at just Rs. 17,999. There's also one more in the series in 40-inch size to add but it comes from the 4A range.

To start with, Xiaomi proudly uncovered the 65-inch 4K LED UHD Mi TV 4X at the event. The company has specifically developed a proprietary picture engine called Vivid Picture Engine. It also comes with a ‘Reality Flow Chip’ that will scale regular 24fps content to 60fps. It now supports more content partners including Netflix and Prime Video.

The 65-inch Mi TV has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, there's HDR10 support as well. There are four drivers inside it that have support for Dolby Audio and DTS Audio. It is powered by a quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It comes with three HDMI ports, one AV port, two USB ports, one Ethernet, and S/PDIF port. The 65-inch Mi 4K TV supports a metal design with ultra-slim bezels. This is touted to be the brightest display ever shipped by Xiaomi in any smart TV.

The 43-inch and 50-inch TV models were also introduced at the stage with 4K UHD 10-bit display. They both support Dolby + DTS-HD audio and have 20W output through its speakers. They both run Android TV with PatchWall UI and have a new feature called the Data Saver that lets you view data usage by every app with an inbuilt data counter.

There’s one TV from the 4A series as well which has been launched for as low as 17,999 only. It packs a full HD display and has 20W speakers.
