02 October 2019 0

Microsoft at its October 2019 event has launched the Surfaced Laptop 3 with new design and better performance. It has aluminum chassis, lightweight and an attractive design to woo when you take a very first glance at it. Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay introduced the Surface Laptop 3 on the stage and shared the important details.

One of the most striking features in the design is the Alcantra fabric covering the keyboard deck. Panay also touted that there are no speaker holes or rubber bumper around the screen and it can be opened with a single finger. This is a thin laptop that has a removable hard drive.

The Surface Laptop 3 brings some long-awaited things to the table, including the USB-C port so that you can finally plug in a lot of peripherals which wasn’t possible before. The new Surface Laptop 3 comes in two sizes – 13.5-inch and 15-inch. They both are powered octa-core Intel 10th-gen processors. The laptops have specially- engineered Ryzen Surface GPU with them and the company calls it to be the fastest processor for any laptop in its class today.

Microsoft claims the new laptops are 3 times more powerful than the Apple MacBook Air.

While giving the introduction of the Surface Laptop 3, Panay took a special moment to talk about the mouse. The laptop has a 20% larger precision pad for better access. Microsoft is promising an all-day battery life once charged with the fast-charging charger. Microsoft claims, the Surface Laptop 3 can be charged to 80% in an hour.

The price of the 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 3 is $999 and the 15-inch model costs $1199. The new Surface Laptop 3 is available for pre-order from today and the availability will start on October 22.
