OnePlus working on one-handed mode, may bring with future OxygenOS build

16 October 2019 0

Bigger smartphones with large screen-to-body ratio look more immersive and let you enjoy watching videos better but they come with one big issue as well and this is accessing them with one hand. The new OnePlus 7 series poses the same difficulty and it becomes more cumbersome when there’s no function around to tackle this.

While most of the manufacturers have started enabling the one-handed mode in their longer and wider phones, OnePlus is still behind and this does annoy its users. But according to a reply made to a user during the AMA session on OnePlus forum, this is going to change soon.

Software Project Manager Zed Z confirmed that they are working on it and recommended to stay tuned. Of course, there’s no exact date of the launch of the feature and not even the probable timeframe has been uttered, but it’s good to note that the work is already going on. It’s expected that we may see the feature in the future OxygenOS build.

So those who have been finding difficulty with reachability may soon get the solution officially via OnePlus.

Also, Zed Z replied so many queries during the AMA and revealed interesting things that you may be interested in knowing. Upon asking will OnePlus 7T’s ultra-wide-angle lens also gets the Pro mode, Zed Z replied that the team is discussing the future plan for this camera and pro mode support is indeed one of the key features included in the discussion. However, he didn’t point out the support specifically for the OnePlus 7T.
