TikTok owner ByteDance's first smartphone goes official with four cameras

04 November 2019 0

TikTok owner ByteDance has finally launched its first smartphone which is being released under the Smartisan brand. The name of the smartphone is Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 which has made its debut in China.

The Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 has a different design compared to other existing Android flagship phones in the market. It appears that the company took the design cues from both Android and iPhones. While it has a waterdrop notch like most of the Android phones, the circular side buttons look similar to what iPhone 5 came with. You could also relate the side buttons design to Smartisan's own smartphone called the Nut 3 that came with circular buttons as well. Note that Jianguo does translate to Nut as well. So, a similar design cue makes more sense now.

The Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 has four rear cameras, where the primary one packs a 48MP sensor with Sony IMX586 and an f/1.75 aperture. It is assisted by a 13MP wide-angle camera with a 123-degrees field of view, an 8MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support and a 5MP macro camera that can take shots of a subject as close as 2cm. On the front, the device includes a 20MP selfie camera that employs the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology to deliver brighter photos.

The Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 features a 6.39-inch FHD Plus AMOLED display with 403ppi pixel density and 100,000:1 contrast ratio. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and paired with up to 12GB RAM and 128GB storage that supports UFS 2.1 standard, while the 256GB storage variant supports the faster UFS 3.0 standard.
