As expected, Redmi has officially launched Redmi K30 as one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in the world. It is a direct successor to Redmi K20 that was unveiled about half a year ago. It brings a number of noteworthy improvements that make it a worthy upgrade and there is a 4G LTE variant of the phone as well.
The Redmi K30 5G sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD punch-hole display. It is a 120Hz display panel with HDR10 support, 20:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm's recently unveiled Snapdragon 765G 5G processor which makes it the world's first smartphone with the chipset. Redmi has opted for Snapdragon 730G chipset on Redmi K30 4G which is the only difference between the two models. The processor is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.
The back panel has a vertically-aligned quad-camera setup featuring the 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor with f/1.89 aperture. The other three cameras include an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. You will get the same camera setup on the Redmi K30 4G except that it has a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
On the front, the pill-shaped notch on the top right corner houses dual selfie cameras. It includes a 20-megapixel camera sensor paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor which is the same for both models. The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. Both smartphones will run MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, NFC connectivity, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
