As expected by official teasers and a few leaks, the Realme X50 5G smartphone has been made official in China. It is the first 5G smartphone from the brand that has seen exponential growth in the market so far. There is no doubt that 5G connectivity is the main highlight of the phone but there are few other noteworthy features as well.
The Realme X50 5G sports a 6.57-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with a high 120Hz refresh rate. It is now the highest refresh rate phone from the company as the Realme X2 Pro has a 90Hz panel. The display has a pill-shaped punch-hole on the top left corner that houses dual selfie cameras. It is a combination of a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 main sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
Under the hood, it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and is only the second smartphone after Redmi K30 5G to feature the processor. It goes without saying that both these phones will go head-to-head with each other in every market they will be sold. There are three configuration options: 6GB RAM with 256GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
The back panel has a total of four cameras: 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.3 aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.5 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 4,200mAh battery with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging.
The Realme X50 5G marks the debut of Realme UI, Realme's own custom Android skin based on ColorOS 7 which is eventually based on the latest Android 10. Realme has claimed 25% faster app launch times, 20% better gaming performance, 35% reduced touch response time, and 10% improved battery life with the new skin. It further comes with custom app icons, all-weather dark mode, dual-mode music sharing, and pre-installed new apps like Realme Pay.
