Coolpad 5G phone previewed at CES 2020, will cost under $400

Coolpad, a Chinese smartphone brand, has previewed its first 5G smartphone named Coolpad Legacy 5G at CES 2020. It is a smartphone that will be sold in the western markets as well. The exact pricing is currently unknown but Coolpad has revealed that it will be priced below $400. This will make it one of the cheapest 5G smartphones in the United States and other western markets.

The Coolpad Legacy 5G sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a notch referred to as "V-notch". It supports Pixelwork's HDR technology that will allow you to enjoy your favorite videos, movies, and TV shows with a high dynamic range. Under the hood, it comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. There is only one storage option i.e. 64GB with microSD card support.

It has dual rear cameras featuring a 48-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor. The front camera is a 16-megapixel sensor with a fixed focus. The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery but whether it offers fast charging or not, it has not been revealed yet. Similarly, the exact Android version has been kept under wraps.

The Coolpad Legacy 5G will become available for purchase sometime in Q2 2020. It is said to be sold via open markets suggesting that it will be an unlocked variant. We will be share more details, especially about the exact pricing, as and when these will be made public.
