Netgear has introduced the next generation of its popular Arlo Pro camera. The new wire-free security camera, Arlo Pro 2 not only includes all those great features that made the Arlo Pro camera the top-selling security camera but also some exclusive features that define its existence. The new features have been added to address the customer needs. The main highlight includes higher quality 1080p HD video recording, which means you can view fine details.
The price of the Arlo Pro 2 is of course, higher than the Arlo Pro and the added cost makes sense as the device brings the 1080p HD video recording capability and a few other important additions too. The Arlo Pro 2 also brings the support for extra wired capabilities.
The new Netgear Arlo Pro 2 has 130-degree field of view, night vision, and advanced motion detection technology that is equipped with the new Arlo Pro 2 to capture every moment with great clarity. The wireless security camera also has a support for Amazon Alexa for live monitoring from the Echo Show and TVs connected to Fire TV.
Another main highlight of the Arlo Pro 2 by Netgear is that you won't need to plug them into power. As it comes with both wired and wireless capabilities, you can decide its use either way. If you choose the wired option then the camera will be able to do some extra things like record 24/7 video.
The Arlo Pro 2 includes a built-in speaker and microphone for 2-way communication. Netgear has also launched a new subscription plan and some accessories in addition to the updated camera. The “Look back” feature of the device keeps recording a small buffer of video all the time while plugged in. you can subscribe to a $10 monthly plan for 30 days of storage on as many as 10 cameras.
The price of the Arlo Pro 2 is $219.99, about $40 more than the Arlo Pro. A kit with the required wireless hub and two Arlo Pro 2 cameras will cost you $479.99, and the larger 4-camera kit is $799.99 It is available from Arlo, Best Buy, Amazon, and other retailers.
