Galaxy S9 alleged casing shows fingerprint scanner below the camera

16 December 2017 0

Rumors regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S9 are in full swing, and many of them seem to concur with each other for the most part. Past renders have shown that the phone takes on a design very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. This is perhaps Samsung's Infinity display design is fairly new, and it wouldn't make much sense tweaking it majorly yet again.

This brings us to the latest leaked images of a case allegedly for the S9, showing very few changes in the overall design.

To start off, the casing shows an opening at the back that is taller than it is wider, meaning that the camera(s) and fingerprint scanner are arranged vertically rather than horizontally as is the case with the Note 8. That's a good sign, since it also means that the fingerprint scanner will be below the camera, which is a much more naturally accessible location.

Unfortunately, the opening is too small for two cameras, which means that at least the S9 won't feature dual rear cameras. That's a feature that might be exclusive to the S9 Plus.

Another good news is the presence of a 3.5mm audio jack (you can never take that for granted anymore), and the normal positioning of volume and power keys. This suggests that Samsung hasn't tried to overhaul the design this time around, which could work for the company's benefit as they go down the tried and tested road this time.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is available at Amazon Marketplace for $ 437. The price/quality is very good and this is the best device in this price range. To see others 5 offers click here.
