Airtel takes on Jio, Vodafone with 3.5GB data per day for Rs. 799

01 January 2018 5

Bharti Airtel, one of the biggest telecom operators in India, is trying to hit back at its competitors Jio and Vodafone, and is offering revised data packages with more volume per day. The new package offers unlimited local, STD, and roaming voice calls, 100 SMS and 3.5GB of 3G/4G data per day for Rs. 799, valid for 28 days.

The package is an upgrade of the previous one by Airtel, which offered 3GB data per day. Incidentally, Jio also offers the same 3GB data plan for Rs 799 per 28 days, so Airtel has now upped the ante with 0.5 GB more data, giving users 14 GB more per month.

The fair-usage policy for 'unlimited calls' is 250 minutes per day, and 1,000 minutes per week. It's still a pretty good plan if you make a lot of local or STD calls. Furthermore, if you buy it via the Airtel Payments Bank, you can get a cashback of Rs. 75!

Airtel recently overhauled its TV app, and is now offering free subscriptions to prepaid and postpaid Airtel customers until June 2018. The content includes more than 300 live TV channels, over 6,000 Bollywood and Hollywood blockbusters, and more.
