Google allowing musicians to post updates directly in search results

12 March 2018 5

Google Search is one of its constantly improving offerings as it keeps receiving different new features and changes at regular intervals. In an attempt to make it better, Google has announced that musicians will now be able to share updates directly within Search results. These updates will be visible along with other results to anyone who will search for them on Google.

This new feature is an extension of Googe's Search Knowledge Panel which is aimed at delivering relevant information in a concise manner to users. As for the updates shared by musicians, these will be visible like they are embedded tweets. Each update will be accompanied by the artist's name, an image, and a verified mark to help users know that it is indeed an official update.

In the official announcement, Google said that fans will be able to get updates from artists like Sia, Kygo, Shakira, Sofi Tukker, Son Little, and more. It further added,

"When you look up one of these musicians, you’ll find updates from them in their Search results, inside their Knowledge Panel. There, you can find images, videos, GIFs, and text posted directly by the artist you’re searching for. You can easily tell if the updates are from a verified musician—posts will be marked with a blue checkmark next to their name."

The feature has already been rolled out around the world. All you need to do is to do a Google search for your favorite music artists and you should be able to see updates from them.
