OnePlus 3/3T OxygenOS Open Beta brings February security patches & more

13 March 2018 2

After releasing the OxygenOS Open Beta for the OnePlus 5 and 5T, the company has now started rolling out a new Open Beta for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. This takes the OnePlus 3 and 3T to Open Beta version 32 and 23 respectively. Unlike the other two flagship smartphones, the update doesn’t include Android 8.1 Oreo but adds a couple new features.

The new update brings February security patches and automatic pick up gesture in the Phone app that allows users to answer an incoming call by raising the phone. In the Gallery app, users can see a new design under the Collections tab with a new function to reorder the view of images along with a new “recently deleted Collection” option that easily keeps track of unintentionally deleted memories.

Here’s the full changelog:

  • Phone
New auto pick up gesture – answer an incoming call by raising the phone
  • Gallery V2.5
    New design for Collections tab
    Added reorder function for Collections
    Added recently deleted Collection
  • OnePlus Switch
  • Added support to migrate application data, allowing you to switch between devices seamlessly
  • System
Updated Android security patch to 2018-02
    General bug fixes and improvements

The new software also updates the OnePlus Switch app that helps transfer app data from an old to a new device with ease. Although the switch makes it seamless to transfer data, we believe that not 100% of apps’ data can be moved completely.
