Netflix is undoubtedly world's leading movies and TV show streaming service provider. It has an amazing catalog of content spread across different genres and languages which gets even better because of its cross-platform availability. But if you have ever used it on your smartphone to stream any content, you must have noticed those not so user-friendly playback controls. This is exactly what is changing for the good with the latest Netflix update.
With this update, Netflix has introduced a much better and a lot more user-friendly media playback controls. The new controls are now bigger which makes it easier to spot and access them. In the new UI, you can see that controls for the list of episodes, audio & subtitles, and next episode are present at the bottom with bigger icons and font.
In the old UI, these controls were crammed in the top right corner with only icons. There were no label texts which means if you were new to Netflix, it would have been difficult for you to know which control is for what action.
Other changes in the new UI include the replacement of the play/pause button. It has now been moved to the center from its previous location which was in the bottom left corner. The controls for skipping ahead or back by 10 seconds are now also more visible and in the center. Previously, the app had icon only for rewinding the content by 10 seconds. There was no way to jump ahead except for tapping on the time-seek bar.
This new UI is being rolled out with the latest Netflix app update. If you have the app installed on your device, look for the update in the Google Play Store. In case you don't see the update yet, you can look for it sometime later but you should see it sooner than later.
