It has long been reported that Microsoft is working on a dual-screen, foldable device codenamed Andromeda but last year it was stated the project isn’t coming and we may need to wait a little more. Well, seems like the launch of the same might not be too far from us as the first build of Windows 10 for the foldable devices has appeared, courtesy of BuildFeed.
According to BuildFeed, the leaker of Windows 10 builds, the new SKU for foldable devices has been compiled. It comes with the build string rs_shell_devices_foldables.190111-1800, and it’s from the 19H1 development batch. The build number is 18313.1004.
It can be fairly assumed that this build is for Microsoft’s much-rumored Andromeda device.
It’s expected that we will finally see Andromeda coming in the second half of this year. But take this with a grain of salt as it’s still under development and a complete hardware build could take much time. Well, if not frequently, we are at least getting to know what’s going inside Microsoft and what could be the possibilities.
In related news, BuildFeed is reportedly shutting down due to “internal pressures.” Tom Hounsell behind this account noted that BuildFeed has never been issued a cease and desist letter from Microsoft. The leakster had been pouring good details on Microsoft’s upcoming plans but now it’s shutting down.
