Mobvoi launches Android Wear Ticwatch starting from $99

Chinese smartwatch manufacturer, Mobvoi has upgraded its smartwatch software to Android Wear from the proprietary offering. The company's smartwatch Ticwatch earlier ran its own voice assistant and its own version of Android. The Ticwatch now runs Google's smartwatch OS, Android Wear and comes in two variants, Ticwatch S and Ticwatch E.

Ticwatch S is a sports model and has the GPS antenna located in the wristband, whereas the Ticwatch E has the GPS antenna in the watch body with replaceable wristbands. While the Ticwatch S weighs 45.5 grams, the Ticwatch E is 41.5 grams in weight.

The watches run Android Wear 2.0 operating system and have all the apps from Google, but the user can also choose Ticwatch's software if they wish to.


The hardware specs of the watch are:

Display 1.4-inch OLED display at 287 ppi
Connectivity Bluetooth 4.1 (including Bluetooth Low Energy), 802.11n Wi-Fi, GPS
Sensors heart rate sensors
Battery 300mAh

The Techwatch S is priced at $119 on Kickstarter and will have a retail price of $199 and the Techwatch E comes for $99 on Kickstarter and will be worth $159 at retail.
