Amazon has announced that the Prime Student membership is now available as part of monthly plans as well. The student interested in becoming a member of this plan will have to pay $5.49 per month. This plan will be applicable after the expiration of the six-month trial which Amazon offers to every new user sign-up.
This monthly plan offers 50% off to students as Amazon's Prime membership usually costs about $9.99 to non-student users. You will be eligible for this new Prime Student plan if you are a student of two or four-year course at a university. As far as registration is concerned, you will need to use your academic email address which ends in .edu.
Once you become the member, you will get following benefits:
- Unlimited free two-day shipping
- Prime free one-day shipping and Prime FREE same-day delivery in over 5000 cities
- Prime Video subscription
- Twitch Prime
- Prime Music
- Prime Photos
- Prime Reading
- Early access to special deals and other offers on Amazon
Ellen Kinney, Prime Student's director for Amazon said:
"Our new monthly payment option lets students enjoy the best of Amazon in a more flexible and simple way. Whether it's getting their favorite products with free shipping or streaming thousands of popular movies and shows, Prime student members can experience all the benefits of Prime."
