Nokia 6.1 Plus Indian launch getting closer, new teaser shared online

17 August 2018 2

HMD Global is appearing to be getting closer to launching the Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone in India. It has been touting the arrival of the device on social media for quite some time and now, it has released another teaser. It is a short video clip featuring the text, "You asked for it and now we are asking you. Are you ready to #BringItOn?"

The teaser does not reveal any other information about the smartphone. Nokia has already scheduled an event for August 21st in the country which is where the Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to get official. With these regular teasers, it seems more and more like Nokia is preparing for the device's arrival here.

For the uninitiated ones, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is simply a globally rebranded version of the Nokia X6 available in China. It is a mid-range phone and a first from Nokia to feature a notch at the top. It sports a 5.8-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixel) IPS display. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. It has a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual camera setup on the back and a 16-megapixel camera on the front.

It is expected to arrive in multiple configuration variants including 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage. The whole package is powered by a 3060mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. There are no words on the pricing yet but it should be somewhere around Rs. 15,000 considering rivals like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus ZenFone Pro M1.
