HMD Global is one of those companies that keep their devices up-to-date and offer latest versions of Android OS on time. Keeping is promise intact; the company has now released the Android Pie (Go Edition) to its most affordable smartphone, Nokia 1. It’s good to see that the company is even taking care of its cheapest mobile phones and thus delighting a large user base.
The Android Pie (Go Edition) update is rolling out over-the-air and should reach all the Nokia 1 units in a week.
The entry-level Nokia 1 was launched last year in February with Android Oreo (Go Edition). The Android Go Edition is specifically developed for devices with low-end hardware and limited RAM. Call it a stripped-down version of Android which has been designed and optimized to run light apps like Google Go, Maps Go, Gmail Go, and YouTube Go as well.
The update to the Nokia 1 also includes June Security patch, thus making the device shielded against any potential threats. Notably, the Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) update version 2.130 brings new navigation system, settings, and menu and notifications.
Earlier this month, the company also rolled out Android Pie update to the Nokia 3 device.
