HMD Global has added two new smartphones in its mid-range tier and these are Nokia 6.2 and the Nokia 7.2. The two phones are being showcased at the ongoing IFA 2019 event and they share a lot in common when it comes to design. They both have triple rear cameras which are placed in a circular module. This is a new design that the company has embraced for its two new mid-range phones.

That’s the visual change that strikes the eyes first but the company has also refreshed the overall design by combining an aluminum chassis with a die-cast polymer on the top. The device features glass on the front and the back as well. They both feature a teardrop notch on the FHD+ panel that features Nokia’s “PureDisplay” technology. Continuing about the design, the two new devices from HMD Global have fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear below the camera module. Additionally, the 7.2 will have a frosted-glass back panel to help differentiate it.

The primary difference between the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2 comes in terms of camera configuration. The Nokia 7.2 has better primary camera senor better over Nokia 6.2 but this doesn’t make the latter slouch. The device has its interesting features to provide in its price range. The cheaper Nokia 6.2 offers 16MP main camera, a 118-degree wide angles lens at 8MP, and a depth sensor for portrait mode shots.

On the contrary, the Nokia 7.2 has a beefy camera configuration, thanks to the 48MP primary camera, along with the same 8MP 118-degree wide-angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor. For Nokia 7.2, HMD Global has partnered with Zeiss to add specific bokeh effects from Zeiss lenses on the software side of the things.

Another important difference is the processor type. While the Nokia 6.2 is powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset, the Nokia 7.2 has Snapdragon 660 SoC.

The Nokia 6.2 will be available for 209 Euros and it will come to the US as well but the price and availability details are unknown. The Nokia 7.2 costs $349 and it will be released at the end of this month.
