Nokia 8.2 to have only 5G model, launch at MWC 2020 | Report

11 November 2019 0

We have heard a few reports about the Nokia 8.2 as the next-gen Nokia 8 series smartphone and now, a new report has emerged offering new details. The leak is coming from NokiaPowerUser citing its sources that claimed Nokia 8.2 will be a 5G only device. This is in contrast to previous reports suggesting that Nokia 8.2 will have 4G LTE as well as 5G models.

The publication has mentioned that all of its sources have talked about Nokia 8.2 being a 5G only smartphone. It has not heard anyone mentioning a 4G LTE variant on a personal level. It further mentions that HMD Global is currently working on the phone and is set to launch Nokia 8.2 during MWC 2020 in Barcelona.

It has also been mentioned that HMD Global has decided that it will release only one version per year. It had launched the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus in the same year but followed it with releasing only Nokia 6.2 the next year. It will follow the same strategy for Nokia 8.2 as well which means there will not be a "Plus" model.

Some of the previous reports have suggested that Nokia 8.2 will come with a 32-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. It will help HMD Global to offer a full-screen experience with slim bezels and without opting for a notch or a punch-hole display. The choice of processor is will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 700-series chipset, likely to be named Snapdragon 735. It is an upcoming Qualcomm 5G processor meant for mid-range devices and part of the company's recently announced plans to bring 5G to more affordable devices.

These are the Nokia 8.2 specifications and features that we have heard about so far. All of these are only leaks and rumors which means nothing is confirmed yet. There is always a chance of things being different, especially the 5G only part in terms of the Nokia 8.2. Nevertheless, we will keep you updated with all new reports and developments.
