First Nokia phone with Android 10 out-of-the-box and Snapdragon 665 SoC may arrive soon

HMD Global apparently has a new Nokia smartphone to launch this year as the device in question has crossed the Wi-Fi certification. The model number of the smartphone is TA-1234 and it is the same device that also visited Russian EEC certification and Indian BIS certification.

The Wi-Fi certification reveals the device runs Android 10, this means this is going to be the first Nokia phone running the latest version of Android out-of-the-box. There are so many Nokia phones that have been updated to Android 10 recently but the company does not have a phone that comes with Google’s latest system out-of-the-box.

The Wi-Fi certification of the Nokia TA-1234 also reveals the device is powered by Snapdragon 665 processor.

The tech site dedicated to everything Nokia speculates that this could be the 4G variant of yet to be launched Nokia 8.2 5G. However, we don’t have any leads to follow yet so let’s just take it with a pinch of salt. There have been reports around stating the Nokia 8.2 5G will launch at MWC 2020, so we expect to also see its 4G variant getting unveiled during the same time period.

The Wi-Fi certification reveals no other information, so we can’t even make a guess on its other key hardware specifications. But a report came in July 2019 for the Nokia 8.2 mentioned the device could come with a 32MP pop-up selfie camera. There is nothing else to glean from here, so let’s just wait to learn more about the same. And, MWC event is scheduled to happen on February 24 and run for three days in Barcelona, Spain. So, we are not too far away from the speculated event.
