HP EliteBook x360 series has received some massive internal upgrades that increase their value even further for the business users. HP has upgraded the Elitebook x360 1030 G7 and the x360 1040 G7 professional convertibles with 10th gen Intel Comet Lake-U CPUs, 5G networking, and optional OLED panels. These new models also feature a redesigned keyboard with rubber dome keys and a much slimmer and lighter chassis.
The CPU options for the EliteBook x360 1030 G7 and the 1040 G7 start from the Core i5-10210U all the way till the Core i7-10810U. They pack no discrete graphics so they are not suitable for heavy multimedia work or gaming. The available RAM with these notebooks is 32GB DDR4-2933 and the storage options are available from 128GB to 2TB. with even a few Intel Optane options being available.
While the two premium notebooks get many upgrades, the main highlight has to be the 5G connectivity, thanks to the optional availability of the 5G modems from Snapdragon X55. Other key updates include AI-based noise reduction and massive battery life. HP touts up to 29 hours of charge for the x360 1040 G7.
These are not, however, the internal upgrades only as HP has redesigned their form factors as well. The notebooks are now 6.3 percent smaller. The EliteBook x360 1030 G7 has a 13-inch display, while the x360 1040 G7 has a 14-inch display. They both have slim bezels around their screens to offer an impressive 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and optional 5G and 4G LTE WWAN. The newly refreshed x360 convertibles have 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A with charging, a combo audio jack, and an HDMI 1.4-out port.
