The tablet market might look pretty stagnant in front of the flowing smartphone market but in reality, it is also moving and following its own pace. The market has some known players with a strong foothold for years but it also welcomes the new players to try their luck as well. One such new entrant is said to be Oppo, which may enter the tablets business by next year.
According to the tipster DigitalChatStation, Oppo could launch tablets as well as notebooks next year. The tipster didn’t reveal what markets will get the new products but expect them to get introduced in their home country first.
Oppo, the Chinese company is doing well in the smartphone manufacturing business. Oppo is enjoying a pretty good amount of global smartphone share in the market (referring to Counterpoint report) and it now believes is the right time to enter the tablets and notebooks business as well.
For comparison, its Chinese rival Xiaomi has already maintained a portfolio of quality notebooks and is selling them in price-sensitive markets like India as well. The same is expected from Oppo as well. The purported tablets and notebooks may come at affordable price tags and may enter markets other than China.
The tipster didn’t share any further details that could tell us what to expect. For your information, Oppo has a diversified product lineup that not only includes smartphones but also smart wearables, wireless earphones, and smart TVs. Adding new tablets and notebooks will further expand its portfolio. We expect to learn more development around the same in the coming weeks.
