HP has launched a new 2-in-1 notebook called the HP Elite Folio at the ongoing CES 2021 event. HP touts it to be the first pull-forward business convertible. It features a flexible, magnesium unibody design and a “vegan” leather covering. As it is a 2-in-1 convertible, users can seamlessly transition between laptop and tablet mode, depending upon how they are consuming the content.
The HP Elite Folio is an always-connected PC that is powered by a Snapdragon 8cx processor clocked at 3.1GHz. The processor packs an X55 modem so that you can enjoy 5G faster connectivity on your Elite Folio. It houses 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB solid-state storage via NVMe SSD.
The HP Elite Folio features a 13.5-inch WUXGA (1920x1280 pixels) IPS LCD display. HP announces the Elite Folio has a fanless design. The convertible is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It features a 76-degree field of view webcam, dual-microphone array, and high-definition speakers with Audio by Bang & Olufsen.
According to HP, the new Elite Folio can offer up to 24.5 hours of local video playback. It also supports fast-charging via two methods – USB Power Delivery charging bricks and HP’s proprietary fast-charging technology.
Other key connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, USB Type-C ports, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The convertible also includes an always-ready HP Elite Slim Active Pen with an integrated charging and storage cradle for quick access.
The HP Elite Folio will be available for purchase in February 2021. The price details are currently unknown.
