Acer unveils three Chromebooks, Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition laptop

Acer has announced three new Chromebooks and a new special edition Windows laptop during CES 2022. The three Chromebook models join the ones it unveiled just a couple of months ago. Each of these models is aimed at different customer bases and one of them is a convertible.

Acer Chromebook Spin 513

The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 is a convertible and is the most expensive offering. It is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor making it the first Chromebook to feature a Kompanio chipset. It will go on sale starting April 2022 and is priced at $599.99 for the base model.

Acer Chromebook 315

If you are someone who prefers big-screen Chromebooks, Acer has Chromebook 315 for you. It houses a 15.6-inch anti-glare display with 1080p resolution. There is also a model with touchscreen input if you want that. All configuration options are powered by Intel's entry-level processors. It will start at $299.99 for the base model.

Acer Chromebook 314

The Acer Chromebook 314 is one of the most affordable Chromebooks out there. It is primarily meant for school students to help them with online classes and other education-related purposes. It also starts at $299.99 for the base model.

Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition

Acer has collaborated with National Geographic to unveil Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition laptop. It has been built keeping sustainability in mind and boasts 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic throughout the chassis. The keycaps feature 50% PCR and the laptop is also said to be easy to upgrade and repair.


The laptop has a unique design with Yellow accents and the spacebar key has the "For Planet Earth" text. Acer says that the inner packaging of the laptop can be re-used as a multi-purpose box. The packaging is made up of 85% recycled paper, a 100% industrial recycled plastic (PIR) laptop sleeve, and an additional sheet of 100% PIR plastic that sits between the laptop’s display and keys.

In terms of specs, the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition is powered by 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics cards. There are two USB 3.2 Gen A ports, a USB Type-C port, and WiFi 6 connectivity options. The laptop will boot the new Windows 11 out of the box. It is priced at EUR 899 with sales beginning March 2022 in France.
