The new macOS version is officially called macOS Ventura. It was announced at WWDC 2022 and the stable version will arrive on all supported Mac devices later this year. There are a bunch of new features that will make using Mac devices even more useful and more productive.
Stage Manager is one big addition to macOS that will automatically organize all opened apps and windows. The current window will appear in the center and all other windows will appear on the left and right sides. Users can also group windows together while working on specific tasks.
Apple is taking Continuity functionality to next level with the Continuity Camera feature. It will allow users to utilize iPhone as a webcam for high-quality video calling. It will work even when the iPhone is connected to Mac wirelessly. Apple says Mac will be able to detect iPhone automatically. It will work with features like Center Stage, Portrait Mode, and Studio Light. The last one is a filter that will ensure that the user's face is illuminated.
FaceTime's Handoff feature is also coming to the Mac with this update. It will allow users to start a FaceTime call on any device and move it to a Mac device with just one click. It will also work in the reverse order where you can start a call on a Mac and move that to any other Apple device.
Metal 3 will bring gaming-related improvements to supported Mac devices. Apple's new macOS Ventura is already available as a developer preview. It is available for all sorts of Mac devices including models that were released as old as 2017.
