Apple recently debuted new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro notebooks powered by an all-new M2 processor. It is also working on more powerful variants of the processor that will likely be called M2 Max and M2 Pro. A new report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has claimed that we will see these chipsets make their debut as soon as this fall.
The report reveals that Apple will launch MacBook Pro models featuring M2 Max and M2 Pro processors. These new chipsets will be direct successors to the M1 Max and M1 Pro respectively. The upcoming notebook is expected to continue with the same design as the recently unveiled model. There might be some minor changes here and there but the overall design is expected to stay the same for the most part.
It is further claimed that the Cupertino-based tech giant will focus on improving the graphical performance. This is similar to the approach it followed for the vanilla M2 chip as well. This is surely an encouraging piece of news for those who have to deal with graphics-intensive apps and software on a regular basis.
If we talk about the M2 chip, it is an octa-core processor with a 10-core GPU and 20 billion transistors. It is claimed to deliver 18% faster CPU performance and 35% better GPU performance compared to the predecessor. It will be able to play back more streams of 4K and 8K videos than before. We can expect to see a similar level of performance upgrades with M2 Max and M2 Pro chipsets.
