Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 update that brings major changes to the operating system. The biggest one is the addition of AI-powered Bing Chat to the taskbar. Other changes include a new screen recording feature, Notepad with tabs, touch mode improvements, and widgets improvements.
Bing Chat originally debuted earlier this month as a new way to perform web searches. It is powered by ChatGPT and allows users to get relevant answers in a way that feels like a chat experience. Microsoft has added a new Bing icon to the Windows 11 search bar which triggers Bing Chat. It will then let users search, chat, answer questions, and generate content directly from the taskbar. The only requirement is you should have access to the new Bing preview. If you do not have it, you can join the waitlist to get invited.
The latest Windows 11 version brings Phone Link for iOS app preview for an easier connection between Windows PC and iPhone. You can then interact with various aspects of the iPhone like messages, calls, and notifications directly from the PC. It is important to note that the app is currently in the preview stage and may have some bugs.
Phone Link app for Android is getting some advanced features for Samsung users. It is now possible to activate the phone's hotspot directly from PC's WiFi settings. Recent Websites is another feature that will allow users to start browsing on the phone and then resume the rest of it on their PCs.
Microsoft has now added Windows Studio Effects settings to the taskbar in quick settings. Users can now quickly use effects like eye contact, background blur, automatic framing, and voice focus for video calls. The in-built Snipping Tool has received a new screen recorder so that you can now record your PC's screen as well. The tool can be launched using the Windows key + Shift key + S keyboard shortcut.
There are many more changes and features coming with this new Windows 11 update. It is available for users who are running Windows 11, 22H2 version. The update can be checked by visiting Settings > Windows Update on an eligible device.
