Apple's plans for new product launches beyond iPhone have been shared in a recent Mark Gurman report. He believes it will use the latest M3 processor on different products. These include the much-awaited iMac refresh, a new MacBook Air, and a new iPad Pro model. He revealed details in the latest edition of his weekly Bloomberg newsletter Power On.
The M3-powered iMac is reported to come with the same 24-inch display and color options as the current model. Apple has not made any changes to its physical appearance. The product is said to have reached the Engineering Validation Test (EVT) stage which is a late stage in the development cycle. It is essentially production testing after which production begins.
Gurman is quick to clarify new iMac will not launch anytime soon. It will take at least three months for the mass production to get underway. The release is expected to happen during the second half of the year. In terms of changes, the new model is expected to have the relocation of some internal components and change the way how the stand attaches.
The report adds there will be new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air launches this year. The 15-inch model is expected to continue with the M2 chipset but the 13-inch model is said to have the new M3 processor. It is not confirmed as details about the chip preference are quite unclear for now.
Lastly, the report claims we may see the M3 chipset arrive on a new OLED iPad Pro as well. These are only speculations at this point and we will have to wait to see if any other tipster corroborates these claims. We will keep you posted as more details will emerge.
