It’s been a long list of rumors regarding the upcoming once a year flagship by OnePlus and we haven’t even gotten to the part where we have seen solid evidence of a feature expected on the OnePlus 5. Earlier today, we got to feature a theory where we thought the OP 5 would feature a headphone jack but from what it looks like it might not get the 3.5mm port after all. We were also hinted that the new device would run smoother and faster than the current generation Galaxy flagship S8 and Google’s very own Pixel XL as that's what recent sighting in a chart suggests.
From what we could grasp, for now, it’s confirmed now that the upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset which is the same SoC used in the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S8. The flagship would thus be able to offer you “flawlessly smooth performance” as was said by the company itself.
Liu Zuotu, CEO & Co-Founder OnePlus also confirmed that the fingerprint scanner would stay on the front like it’s older phones. The statement was made through China’s social networking site, Weibo while Zuotu was in discussion with queries regarding their upcoming smartphone.
This could only be the two details that are confirmed as of now on official records but we can expect more to come in the run-up to the launch of the OnePlus 5.
