Realme Pad will not get Android 12 upgrade

13 January 2022 0

It has just been four months since Realme unveiled its first-ever tablet named Realme Pad. It was launched with Android 11 and was expected to get at least one major upgrade but unfortunately, it will not happen. Realme has officially confirmed that Realme Pad will not receive Android 12 which is the latest Android version.

Realme made the announcement during the Episode 52 of its weekly Q&A session on the Realme Community forum. One of the questions was about whether the Realme Pad will get Android 12. The answer said, "No, realme Pad will not be updated to Android 12, but will keep receiving security and performance updates throughout its software lifecycle."

It means that the Realme Pad will continue to be stuck at Android 11. This is not exactly surprising as we have seen tablets rarely get the attention when it comes to releasing software updates. However, Realme's offering is just four months old which makes the decision a lot more disappointing.

Realme Pad Specs
  • 10.4-inch WUXGA+ (2000 x 1200 pixels) IPS LCD display
  • MediaTek Helio G80 processor
  • 3GB and 4GB of RAM
  • 32GB and 64GB onboard storage
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • 7100mAh battery
  • 18W fast charging
