Oppo A3 leak reveals images, specifications, and user manual

16 April 2018 4

As Oppo is preparing to announce a new smartphone named Oppo A3, all of its crucial details have been leaked by a Chinese carrier China Telecom. It accidentally listed the device on its website well ahead of the official announcement which was spotted before it was taken down. The leak not only revealed Oppo A3's specifications but also images, user manual, and price.

To start off, the Oppo A3 was listed with model number PADM00 which is the same as the one spotted in a TENAA listing last month. It is said to sport a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it has the octa-cote 2GHz MediaTek Helio P60 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It is listed with 128GB internal storage with up to 256GB microSD card support.

On the back, it is said to feature a single 16-megapixel camera with LED flash. There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with AI beauty mode. It seems like Oppo would be marketing it as a selfie smartphone. The whole package is said to be powered by a 3300mAh battery and run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It will also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack with a listed price of 1999 Yuan.

Oppo A3 Specifications
  • 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display
  • 2GHz MediaTek Helio P60 processor
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 128GB of storage (support microSD up to 256GB)
  • 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash
  • 8-megapixel front camera with AI beauty mode
  • 3300 mAh battery
  • Dimensions: 156 x 75.3 x 7.8 mm
  • Weight: 159g
  • Colors: Knight Black, Stardust Silver, Pomegranate and Soybean Meal
  • Android 8.1 Oreo

The leak further includes Oppo A3 user manual. This gives an idea of the smartphone's design and as you can notice, it will be sporting a notch at the top. Another thing to notice here is that there is no fingerprint scanner on the device which is strange considering that fingerprint scanners are like a basic feature of smartphones now. Lastly, it will be featuring a dedicated microSD card slot which means users will not have to sacrifice the expanded storage if they wish to use it with two SIM cards.

The Oppo A3 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
