A few days ago the well-known tipster Evan Blass shared info regarding the Key2 Lite. He stated the device is internally codenamed as "Luna" and it will be released in Blue, Red and Copper colors variants. He further revealed the device features a plastic rear as being a budget-friendly smartphone as opposed to Key2 which costs $650. The device is expected to go official at the IFA later this year in Berlin.
Today the Key2 Lite crossed another step ahead of the official unveiling. The device FCC certification appears online which confirms the device model number is BBE100-2. Back in May, a BlackBerry branded smartphone appears at Geekbench with the same model number. The device was also running on the Snapdragon 660 chipset.
The first prominent difference in the hardware will be 4GB RAM instead of 6GB. Also, the Lite variant won't have an as good battery as the Key2. As per FCC listing, the Key2 is powered up by a 2,900mAh battery. Blackberry was criticized by an analyst for asking a hefty price tag for the mid-range Key2. However, the Key2 Lite won't be as expensive as the Key2.
