Huawei Watch GT render leak shows design similar to traditional watches

04 October 2018 3

Huawei is all set to announce its newest flagships Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro this month but as per recent reports, it will have at least one more product to showcase at the same event. It is said to be a smartwatch named Huawei Watch GT which is reported to run on Google's Wear OS. It was recently spotted on the FCC website suggesting an official announcement just around the corner. And now, it is time for a new leak showing the render of the watch to give an idea of the design.

This new Huawei Watch GT render leak is coming from WinFuture.de's Roland Quandt who has a pretty reliable track record when it comes to reporting leaks. The report mentions that there will be two variants of the watch called Huawei Watch GT Classic/Fashion and Watch GT Sport. The render included in the report is said to be of the Classic/Fashion variant.

The render shows the Watch GT Classic/Fashion with a circular dial and two buttons on the right side. There is a leather strap in Brown color and the overall design looks like any other traditional watch. On another hand, the Sport edition is said to come with Black color combined with Silver bezels.

In terms of connectivity options and features, the Huawei Watch GT will be able to connect with a compatible smartphone via Bluetooth. While it has two physical buttons, it will also offer touch screen input functionality. There will be a compass, pressure sensor, and an accelerometer but there are no words on the heart rate sensor. Both variants will offer waterproofing and come with a feature called "Multi-Sport" or "Sport Coach" which will basically be aimed at tracking different exercises and sports activities. It will further offer GPS and NFC support for those who like to use these features.

There is said to be a 420mAh battery to keep the lights on which is a rather bigger battery for a smartwatch. This is said to make it possible for the watch to last for up to seven days with Always On Display enabled and for up to 20 hours with continuous GPS usage. Under the hood, it is said to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset which is specifically meant for wearable products.

Apart from all these interesting features. pricing is another aspect where the Huawei Watch GT is expected to get a great response. It is reported to get priced around €229 and €199 for the Watch GT Classic/Fashion and Watch GT Sport respectively.
