Oppo's smartphone business story is pretty much like most of the other Chinese smartphone brands. It is well-known and one of the biggest brands in its homeland and some other Asian markets including India but is almost non-existent for the majority of the western market users. And since western market users have slightly different needs than their eastern counterparts, these brands need to come up with different strategies.
This is the reason that like other Chinese brands, Oppo has been quite cautious about its expansion to the western part of the world. It is currently operating in selected European markets and as per a new report, it is now working on entering the United Kingdom market. The report is coming from MySmartPrice mentioning that Oppo is all set to expand to the UK with the release of a few selected models.
The biggest attraction of the lot is said to be the Oppo Find X which is one of the most innovative smartphones of the year. While all other OEMs are busy offering notch to accommodate front camera and sensors in their quest to deliver a bezel-less display, Oppo opted for a mechanical pop-up camera setup. It allowed it to deliver a full bezel-less display with no notch at the top. The front camera pops-out whenever needed and slides back into chassis when it is not. Other than this, it is a flagship device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and all other high-end features.
Other devices listed in the report are Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition, Oppo F9, and Oppo R17 Pro. It means Oppo will be offering devices at different budget points and with focus on different features. The report does not mention when exactly Oppo will be making the entry official but it is expected to happen sometime next month.
