A new Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted online which is likely to be an Android Go smartphone. It is said to be named Redmi Go as suggested by the listing on Singapore's Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) website. If the phone ends up being released, it will likely be the first Xiaomi Android Go phone in the market.
The listing on the website shows the model number to be M1903C3GG. It further lists Redmi Go as the commercial name which means once the device gets official, it is likely to be sold under this name. The name makes sense considering that both Xiaomi's Redmi series and Google's Android Go initiative are aimed at affordable and entry-level smartphones.
Additionally, the same smartphone has also been spotted on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. This listing reveals that it will be sporting a 5.9-inch display but that's pretty much it. But as it is likely to be an Android Go phone, one should not expect anything spectacular. It means it should be having 1GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage.
This will not be the first time Xiaomi will be releasing a phone in line with a Google initiative. It has previously released two Android One smartphones named Mi A1 and Mi A2 which received positive feedback from users.
