Honor has confirmed that it will launch the Honor 9X series on July 23rd in China. The series will include two mid-range smartphones named Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro. These will be successors to last year's Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max which proved to be quite popular in the targetted audience.
If we go by the track record, Honor has scheduled the launch of the smartphones ahead of the usual timeline. It announced Honor 8X series in September which still two months away. The exact reason for the change in plan is unknown but we should expect the global launch to happen earlier than the usual as well.
The Honor 9X is rumored to sport a 6.5-6.7-inch LCD IPS display which is quite large. Under the hood, it will have octa-core Kirin 810 processor with no words on the RAM and internal storage configuration variants. There will be a triple rear camera setup featuring a 24-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel super wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It will have a 20-megapixel front camera. The whole package is powered by a 3750mAh battery with 10W fast charging.
As for the Honor 9X Pro, there are a few changes to justify the Pro name tag. It is said to have quad rear cameras with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 sensor, an 8-megapixel super wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it is expected to have a 25-megapixel punch-hole selfie camera. The battery capacity is claimed to be 4000mAh and 20W fast charging. It is also said to have 3D glass design for the premium look.
