Vivo is one of the most active Android OEMs when it comes to releasing new smartphones and now, it has announced launch date for another new phone. It is Vivo Z5 and confirmed to get unveiled on July 31st in China. It will be a mid-range phone with a focus on smartphone photography.
The launch event poster confirms that the Vivo Z5 will have a triple rear camera setup. It is further said to have some kind of heat dissipation technology to boost the performance. The tech should be helpful in keeping the smartphone temperature low, especially during heavy gaming sessions.
Other the launch poster, official Vivo Z5 promo images have also been shared on Weibo. These images give us a good look at the smartphone's design which is similar to what you would expect from a modern phone. It has a bezel-less display with a waterdrop-styled notch which means a higher screen-to-body ratio. The triple rear camera setup can be seen on the top left corner along with LED flash. It is expected to include a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel third sensor for depth effects.
One interesting thing to note in these images is that there is no visible fingerprint scanner, neither on the back panel nor on the front panel. This suggests that Vivo Z5 could come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Lastly, the smartphone will have three color variants: Purple, Green, and Blue-ish.
As for previous reports, the Vivo Z5 is expected to sport a 6.38-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor coupled with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The storage options are likely to be 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB but exact configuration variants are unknown. There will be a 4,420mAh battery to keep the lights on and it should be running Android 9 Pie.
