Oppo is one of the Chinese smartphone makers that sees India as a crucial market. This is the reason it keeps on releasing new phones at different price points to reach all types of buyers. It has already launched three smartphones (Oppo Reno 10X Zoom edition, Oppo K3, and Oppo A9) in the past few months and is reportedly planning to bring even more phones.
The 91Mobiles report cites industry sources to claim that Oppo has plans to release as many as 6 new smartphones by Diwali 2019 in India. Diwali is one of the biggest Indian festivals and will be celebrated on October 27th this year. This means we should expect these 6 devices to get official in the next three months which turns out to be two new smartphones per month on an average.
The details regarding these upcoming phones' specifications and features are currently under wraps. The only thing that has been revealed is that these will be catering to different types of buyers. It means there will be phones related to entry-level, mid-range, and premium segment. Oppo wants to offer at least one option for every price point so that it can reach as many buyers as possible. There are also speculations that we might see an India-exclusive smartphone series from the company.
The last Oppo smartphone to get official in India is a mid-range device named Oppo A9. It sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with a waterdrop-styled notch. It is a full-screen display with 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The only RAM variant comes with 128GB internal storage and also support microSD cards up to 256GB.
The dual rear camera setup on the phone features a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and video calls. The whole package is powered by a 4,020mAh battery which should last for a working day with ease. It will be running ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. It also has a physical fingerprint scanner that can be found on the back panel.
