The next major smartphone to come from Vivo is set to be the NEX 3 which will also have a 5G model. Vivo has already confirmed that it will be announced sometime later this month but most of the details were unknown until now. A new leak has emerged that allegedly reveals all of Vivo NEX 3 and NEX 3 5G specifications.
The leak shows that both standard NEX 3 and the 5G model are exactly the same devices except for the presence of 5G modem on the latter. The phones are said to sport a 6.89-inch Full HD+ (2256 x 1080 pixels) Waterfall display with curved edges and a 99.6% screen-to-body ratio. It means the display panel is not only present on the front side but also across the sides.
Talking about the internals, there will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor but the NEX 3 5G will also come with the Snapdragon X50 5G modem. This will allow the smartphone to connect with 5G networks and offer faster mobile internet speeds. There are 8GB and 12GB RAM options along with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB onboard storage options. It is unknown whether any of these models will offer microSD card support.
Vivo is set to become the latest OEM to offer a 64-megapixel camera with the NEX 3 triple rear camera setup. It will be joining the 64MP camera smartphone club started by Redmi and Realme with the release of Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme XT. The other two camera sensors on Vivo's offering are said to be 13-megapixels each. The front camera is reported to be a 16-megapixel sensor with the pop-up camera mechanism. The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It should be running Android 9 Pie out of the box as well.
Additionally, a British YouTuber Arun Maini aka MrWhoseTheBoss has posted a video offering an exclusive look of the Vivo NEX 3 5G. The video shows the devices' design from the front as well as back panel along with a few camera shots. He also goes on to show 5G speed tests which do come out to be way faster than currently available 4G LTE networks. But he quickly clarified that the unit he is using is a pre-production one which means there are likely to be some more changes and improvements to come.
