We are still far away from the MIUI 11 public release but thanks to a Xiaomi mistake, we have got an early look at the upcoming custom skin iteration. Xaiomi accidentally made MIUI 11 private beta build public for Redmi K20 Pro, Mi MIX 2S, and Mi 6 among other devices. It did rectify the error later but that was more than enough time for people to download the build and flash on their respective devices.
As shared by XDA folks, MIUI 11 screenshots reveal a few interesting details about the design, user interface, and icons. The new icons and font style are the first things that you will notice straight away. The overall UI is quite minimalistic with White background and Black and bold text for different menus/options.
The same design approach is visible throughout the new skin including the initial setup process. The first setup interface also shows the MIUI 11 logo with tagline Empowering the Productive. There are certainly some inconsistencies in terms of the icon and font design but that is likely to be due to it being a private beta build. We can expect it to get fixed by the time public beta and a stable release is made available.
MIUI 11 shows references to the cross-platform file sharing protocol that Xiaomi has developed in collaboration with Vivo and Oppo. The MIUI Always on Display feature has been improved to bring new personalization possibilities. These include automatic text color change over a period of time, five different Kaleidoscope-styled patterns that change every time you unlock the device, and a light changing style that changes depending on the sunrise and sunset time at the user's current location.
The official release date for MIUI 11 is currently unknown but we can expect Xiaomi to make an announcement in coming weeks or months. We will make sure to keep you updated as and when it will make an announcement regarding the upcoming MIUI version.
