Honor has officially teased the existence of Honor V30 5G smartphone in a post shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The post was mainly related to 5G technology as an Honor official was looking to gather user feedback. He mentioned that all the user views about 5G technology will be checked and one of the users to comment will receive an Honor View 30 5G unit.
The post did not reveal any other information about the upcoming flagship but this is not the first time we are hearing about it. Honor has already confirmed that the V30 (aka View 30 for global markets) will be the first 5G smartphone from the brand. It will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor which has an integrated 5G modem. But Honor is also expected to release a 4G-only model of the smartphone featuring the same processor.
Additionally, a new leak of alleged Honor V30 display panel has surfaced online. The leak shows that the display panel features a punch-hole and negligible bezels on all four sides. It has a pill-shaped punch-hole with dual selfie cameras like the Samsung Galaxy S10+. The current-generation Honor V20 aka View 20 also sports a punch-hole display but it has a single front camera.
There are speculations that we might see Honor using AMOLED display for the V30 which will be a good upgrade over V20's LCD panel. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also expected considering it is becoming more and more common among smartphones. The release date is unknown but considering that the Honor V20 was released in December 2018, we should expect the successor in coming months if Honor continues with the schedule.
