Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi entered the budget flagship segment with the launch of Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Both these smartphones offered flagship-level specifications for relatively affordable pricing. This is the reason they became a fan favorite almost instantly, especially in India. And now, we have started to hear whispers as well as official statements about the successor series that will be named Redmi K30.
The latest leak from well-known tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) claims that Redmi K30 will be launched this year itself but the Redmi K30 Pro will arrive sometime in 2020. He has not offered any other details about the phones and sources behind the information but considering his track record, the leak is worth paying attention to.
Since the Redmi K30 launch is said to be set for 2019, we should start seeing official teasers from Redmi in the coming weeks. This is because Redmi is one of those brands that like to create hype and run lengthy marketing campaigns for their upcoming products. These teasers will also give us an idea of what to expect, especially about key features and specifications.
It should be noted that Redmi K30 is confirmed to arrive with 5G support. This is something that Redmi has already confirmed on more than one occasion. One of the recent posts also revealed that Realme K30 will have dual selfie cameras housed within a pill shape notch like the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.
The Redmi K30 will be the first 5G smartphone from Redmi. It is reported to come with MediaTek's only chipset that comes with an integrated 5G modem. This should help the brand in keeping the 5G phone prices in check which will also help them users' expectations after the Redmi K20 series pricing. But either way, we will have to wait for an official announcement from Redmi before making any further speculations.
