02 December 2019 0

Vivo has shared media invites confirming that it will announce a new smartphone in India on December 9th. The invite does not confirm the device name or series but shows a glimpse of a phone with a punch-hole display. It is speculated that it will be the Vivo V17 global version that was launched in Russia last week but with a few differences.

As per the information received by 91Mobiles, the Vivo V17 Indian version will come with a punch-hole display and an L-shaped rear camera module. It is different from the notched display and diamond-shaped camera setup available with the Russian variant. The punch-hole is visible on the top right corner of the display and is meant for a single front camera. It has a quad-camera setup on the back along with an LED flash.

The changes are not limited to design as even Vivo V17 Indian variant specifications are also reported to differ. It is said to feature a 6.44-inch Full HD+ OLED iView display and boast a 91.38% screen-to-body ratio. The choice of processor is said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. It is unknown whether there will be other configuration options as well.

The quad-camera setup will reportedly include a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors. The front camera will have a single 32-megapixel sensor. The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It is also said to come with a USB Type-C port. It will have Midnight Ocean and Ice Blue color variants with expected pricing to be under Rs. 20,000.
